Tournaments in the News

Jorge Gonzalez, has lost over 100lbs training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu the past 9 months. He Recently took 3rd place at The 5th annual International open held in Mesa Arizona. Winning his first match 25 points to zero against his first opponent in his first competition. He lost his second match after dislocating his shoulder while executing a throw. Congratulations Jorge.

Other stand out competitors in the International open include; blue belt Arnold Monteroso taking third place in a very difficult division. Jose Munoz second place in the ultra heavyweight division and Gold medalist David Corolla, winning the heavyweight division.

The Kids from Gracie Barra Phoenix took the first annual Pan American Championship for kids by storm. Bringing only 10 competitors, brought back 10 medals. 1 first place medal by Venus Marquez, eight second place medals and one third place medal. Good job Gracie Barra Kids.

The next major Tournament will be The Adult Pan American championship, Gracie Barra will once again bring a strong team as we have been training very hard for this tournament. Hard work is always a recipe for success. Good luck in April.

We will be bringing Kayron Gracie, son of Master Carlos Gracie Jr out, for what is looking to be the best seminar of the year. Register early to ensure your spot. Mat space is limited. All schools are welcome, so bring a friend.
